风景区道路供游人游览运输用的道路，属于园林型道路。包括对内交通和对外交通两部分。世界各国均有很多风景区供人们旅游，中国有许多著名的风景优美的城市，它们往往也是重要的历史名城和游览胜地，如苏州、杭州、无锡、桂林、黄山、泰山等风景区。为使游人便于到达，风景区道路对外要求能进得来，散得开，出得去。路线要畅通，道路的布局与走向应适应自然地形和风景特征，路旁绿化布置要优美。风景区的内部道路，既是容纳游人的空间，又是引导和分配游人的路线。风景区内的道路系统，应按道路交通的不同功能加以分类和组织，如桂林道路系统，货运干线与游览路线和城市生活性干道分开。风景区内部道路不必强求平、直、宽，结合地形、适当弯曲、起伏，可为游人创造良好空间景观效果。如无锡的环湖路、桂林滨江路等。风景区道路应将风景区内各风景点联系起来，使游人乘车可以直达风景点，而不致步行多而疲劳。杭州西湖风景区的道路，如苏堤、白堤，通过广阔的湖面，将水景划分成大小不同的空间，四周远近诸山名景尽收眼底，构成一幅动人的画图。风景区道路断面形式主要是"单幅式"，车行道不宜过宽，有1～2个车道即可，路面用水泥混凝土或沥青混凝土,也可用块料路面,绿带和人行道可适当宽些。绿化应选择适合风景区特点的树种。道路两侧护栏应美观，树下可设供游人休息用的坐椅。
