良种繁育(multiplication of superior cultivars)为果树生产培育大量纯正优质种苗的制度与方法。良种繁育是品种程序的一个组成部分，它的任务是提供符合国家标准的果树苗木；提高种性，防止品种退化；加速繁殖，提高繁殖系数。建立包括品种母本园、砧木母本园和育苗圃三部分的良处繁育圃。对母本园的要求是①品种纯正，砧木和授粉品种适宜。②无病毒和检疫性病虫害，具有自然隔离或人工隔离的条件。③采用合理的农业技术措施，保障良种母本植株生长发育良木母本园。以母本园中的良种、和砧木母本园提供的繁殖育苗，除常规方法之外，还可采用组织培养、热处理、微型嫁接、弥雾扦插等技术，培育无病毒苗和提高繁殖系数。良种繁育的途径有：①扩大繁殖材料的来源。如扩大母树营养面积，增施水肥，加强修剪，控制结果，利用高接扩繁等措施；②经济利用繁殖材料，以短穗 、单芽嫁接或扦插；③加强管理，早嫁接，早成苗，早出圃；④改进繁殖技术，延长繁殖时间。利用保护地育苗和茎尖培养等技术。
