旗津区旗津区位於台湾高雄市西方近海，与鼓山区、盐埕区、前镇区、小港区隔高雄港相望。位於南海上的东沙岛及南沙太平岛也划归本区管辖。本区原为近海离岛，後因高屏溪携带大量泥沙淤积，遂於台湾本岛相连，成为一沙洲半岛，在之间形成了潟湖，潟湖内风平浪静，使高雄成为天然良港。1967年，为开闢高雄港第二港口，将旗津与台湾相连的沙嘴切割，使得旗津再度成为沙洲离岛。歷史旗津区旧名「旗後」，系因聚落位於旗山之後而得名，是高雄港的发源地，也是高雄市发展最早的地区。明末清初，就有许多来自中国的船只停泊。在1860年中英北京条约後，旗後正式开港通商，万帆聚集，成为高雄的首善之区，清廷於1862年在此设立旗後海关分关。1898年，日本在此设立高雄第一所学校－打狗公学校(今旗津国小)。1909年设打狗区役场於旗後，但在19设立高雄街後，区役场被迁往哨船头。1925年，日本取「旗鼓堂皇，津粱永固」之义，改地名为「旗津」，战後改设高雄市旗津区。原本和南端小港区相连，但是因为要盖高雄港第二港口，所以就被炸断了。1979年高雄市升格为直辖市，并将东沙岛及南沙太平岛划归旗津区管辖。1984年5月，高雄过港隧道通车，使旗津的对外交通大为改善。交通高雄过港隧道 (前镇－旗津)旗津渡轮站前镇中洲渡轮航线教育·国民中学高雄市立旗津国民中学·国民小学旗津区旗津国民小学旗津区大汕国民小学旗津区中洲国民小学旅游旗後砲台旗後灯塔旗津海水浴场旗津风车公园旗津海岸公园二十五淑女墓旗后天后宫特产乌鱼子高雄市旗津区公所[[1]]
