飓风月份的天气

the trade wind：信风
由副热带高压带吹向赤道低气压带的风，在赤道两边的低层大气中，北半球吹东北风，南半球吹东南风。
trade wind 有时翻译为贸易风，但实际上trade这个词并非现代英语中贸易的意思，而是来自中古英语，相当于path、track的意思。所以，trade wind原意是“在常轨上的风”。
所谓“信风”，是指风的方向很少改变，年年如此，非常守信用。

“如果有飓风，你总会提前几天就在天空中看到它的征兆，前提是你在海上。在岸上是看不到什么的，因为人们不知道该看什么，”他想，“陆地肯定也有变化，云朵的形状不一样。不过，现在并没有飓风要来。”
他望着天空，看见白色的积云像一团团美味的冰淇淋一样堆在一起，再往上，薄薄的卷云像羽毛一样漂浮在九月高远的天空中。
“轻柔的东北风，”他说，“相比之下，这天气对我更有利，鱼。”

abuse既可以做动词，又可以做名词。做动词时，表示滥用、不正确地使用（make bad or wrong use of），后面可以带权威、信任这一类抽象名词，也可以像《老人与海》中一样，带某一样具体的事物。
除了表示“不正确地使用”，abuse还可以表示“不正确地对待”——虐待、剥削。
