液泛在气液或液液两相逆流操作的传质设备中,当两相流速高达某一极限值时,一相将被另一相夹带而倒流,设备的正常操作遭到破坏的现象。设备内刚好发生液泛的两相流速称为泛点速度,但通常用连续相的流速来标志。泛点速度是设备通过能力的上限。在不同设备中,产生液泛的原因及其具体现象互不相同。在气(汽)液接触的板式塔内,液泛可能是由于降液管通过能力的限制所致,也可能由于发生过量的雾沫夹带。在正常操作中,由于液体流经降液管和气体流经塔板所受到的流动阻力,降液管中液面高于塔板上的液面,当气液流量过大时,降液管内液体将升到上一层塔板,产生液体壅塞而发生液泛。当雾沫夹带量过大时,会使大量液体随气体而倒流,板上液体增厚,且流经降液管的液体量大大增加,最终也使降液管不能负担而发生液泛,无论是哪种原因造成液泛,都导致塔内积液。在操作中,若气体流量不变而塔板压降持续增加,预示液泛即将发生。在气(汽)液逆流接触的填充塔中,若保持液体流量不变而使气体流量增到某个临界值(即泛点)时,塔内持液量(单位体积填料层内积存的液体量)会持续增加,气体压降也随之急剧上升,就会导致发生液泛。泛点气速随液体流量的增加而减小。液泛速度可从气体压降随气速变化的曲线确切判定。当气相流量不大,因液相流量过大而发生液泛时,液膜合并而转变成为连续相,气体则鼓泡通过填料层。相反,在气液比较大时发生的液泛,部分液体随气体一起从塔顶溢出。在液液逆流接触的塔设备中提高两相流速时,分散相(液滴)的滞留率(分散相在填料空隙中所占的体积分率)随之增大。当流速达到某一临界值时,滞留率达到极大值,也就发生液泛。此时分散相大量出现于连续相出口,或发生连续相的转换。液泛现象相当复杂,液泛速度与两相的流量比和密度差,设备结构和尺寸,以及两相的粘度、表面张力和起泡性等都有关。目前,仅有一些估算泛点速度的经验式。不恰当的设备结构设计(如填充塔中填料支承板开孔不足,板式塔中降液管太小等),会使设备在运行中容易发生液泛,降低设备的处理能力。
