洪水演算应用蓄泄关系把河段或水库的入流洪水过程转换成出流洪水过程的计算。根据入流洪水计算出流洪水是水文工作中经常遇到的问题,十分重要。它在性质上属于明渠非恒定流,解法较繁,要求资料较多,在一般水文工作中较少应用。由于天然洪水波的加速度项极小,用蓄泄关系就可求解方程,方法简便,这就是洪水演算法。蓄泄关系是河道或水库的蓄水量W与其泄流量O之间的关系。同时还引入入流量I,使W是O与I的函数。把这个函数与水量平衡方程合解,即可计算出出流过程。由于蓄泄关系有多种表达方式,洪水演算的方法也有多种。对于水库,W只与O有关,演算方法比较简单。对于河流,W与O及I都有关,最常用的演算方法是马斯京根法。它把水量平衡方程与蓄泄关系合解,求得计算公式如下: O2=C0I2+C1I1+C2O1式中I1与I2为时段始末时刻河段的入流流量;O1与O2为时段始末时刻河段的出流流量;C0、C1、C2对某河段为常数,决定于河道水力学条件,可用公式计算。当已知I1、I2与O1,即可计算O2。按时段递推,即可求得出流过程。马斯京根方法已扩展应用到多个河段的连续演算和非线性条件下的演算等问题。在河流中,如果河长正好等于特征河长,则W 只与O 有关,与水库无异。特征河长的大小决定于河道水力学条件,可用加里宁法进行计算。
