壮族壮族中国少数民族。主要分布在广西、云南、广东、湖南、贵州、四川等省区。以广西最多。1990年人口1548万。使用壮语，属汉藏语系壮侗语族壮傣语支。南宋时已出现方块汉字构成的土俗字。但使用面不广，多用于书写地名，编山歌、记事。1955年创制了以拉丁字母为基础的壮文得到推广，1982年又作了部分修订。壮族是岭南的土著民族，历史悠久。春秋战国时，是百越的一支，南宋时始称僮人、撞丁。明、清时与土、依、沙并称。中华人民共和国建立后统一为“僮”，1965年根据周恩来倡议，国务院批准，把“僮”改为“壮”。壮族地区石灰岩分布很广，是世界有名的岩溶地区，石山拔地而起，石山里有岩洞和地下河。这种地形构成了“桂林山水甲天下，阳朔山水甲桂林”的名胜景色。沿海盛产各种名贵海产，尤以南珠闻名。壮族地区气候温和，雨水充足，以农业为主，种植水稻、玉米、薯类等。果品也很丰富，森林面积广，盛产柳州杉、银杉、樟木等名贵木材。驰名中外的三七、蛤蚧和茴油是壮族地区久负盛名的特产。壮族人民能歌善唱，每年定期举行的唱山歌会，称为歌圩。以农历三月初三最为隆重。大的歌圩有万人以上参加。被誉为歌仙的刘三姐是壮族歌手的典型代表。歌圩期间还举行男女间的抛绣球、碰蛋等娱乐活动，吃五色糯米饭、唱壮戏、兼办物资交流等，预祝五谷丰登。唐代壮族已有舞蹈。广西宁明、龙州等地的断崖陡壁上留下了壮族先民绘制的众多崖壁画。铸造和使用铜鼓在壮族已有2000多年历史。壮锦是享有盛名的纺织工艺品。壮族的婚姻，过去是父母包办，但婚前恋爱自由。盛行不落夫家或“坐家”，现在有些地方仍有此俗。住房多数与当地汉族相同。部分地区居民住二层干栏，楼上住人，楼下养畜堆物。近年来已有改变，实行人、畜分居。服装大部分和汉族相同，但还有许多地方仍保留着本民族服饰特点，且各地不一。男子多穿唐装。衣料过去多为自织的土布。过去有文身习俗，现已改变。饮食方面，喜吃腌制的酸食，以生鱼片为佳肴。主食大米和玉米。年节时，用大米制成各种壮族妇女粉、糕。妇女有嚼槟榔的习俗。结婚送聘礼时，必赠槟榔。除祭祀祖先外，还有自然崇拜，如祭祀山神、水神、太阳神等。唐宋以后佛教、道教先后传入壮族地区。近代有传教士到壮族城镇建立基督教、天主教教堂，但影响不大。壮族妇女
