氧化锡包括一氧化锡 SnO和二氧化锡 SnO2两种。一氧化锡为黑色立方晶体;密度6.446克/厘米3(0°C);不溶于水,易溶于酸。二氧化锡为锡石的主要成分,白色四方晶体;熔点 1630°C,1800~1900°C升华,密度 6.95克/厘米3;不溶于水,较难溶于酸,在浓硫酸中长期加热能溶解。一氧化锡在空气中加热容易氧化成二氧化锡,隔绝空气加热会发生歧化反应:4SnO─→Sn3O4+Sn一氧化锡较难溶于浓强碱溶液,产物有明显的还原性。二氧化锡对空气和热都稳定,与强碱共熔生成可溶性锡酸盐。一氧化锡可由锡(Ⅱ)盐溶液与强碱共热来制取。二氧化锡可由金属锡在空气中加热或者溶于浓硝酸后加热脱水来制取。二氧化锡是制备金属锡和媒染剂三水合锡酸钠的原料,也可用于制作各种瓷釉和珐琅,也可做玻璃的磨料。
