机床：立式车床主轴轴线垂直于水平面﹑工件安装在水平回转工作台上的车床﹐简称立车。立车通常用来加工直径和重量比较大﹐或在卧式车床上难于安装的工件(见彩图可进行车﹑铣﹑镗﹑钻等多功能加工的 CJ52125型立式车床(最大加工直径达15米)﹐在加工水轮机座环)。为满足加工大型工件的需要﹐1890年在美国出现了立式车床。20世纪30年代﹐德国制造出加工直径为25.5米的超重型立式车床﹐可加工的最大工件重达350吨﹐机床自身重1850吨。苏联也制造过加工直径26米的立式车床。立式车床有单柱式(图1单柱立式车床)和双柱式两种。中小型立车多为单柱式。大型立车主要是双柱式﹐有两个垂直刀架。工件装夹在立车的工作台上﹐并由工作台带动作旋转的主运动﹐由垂直刀架和侧刀架实现进给运动﹐两者都可沿相应的导轨作垂直方向和水平方向进给。这两种立车的垂直刀架通常都带有可安装几组刀具的转塔﹐这样就相当于立式的转塔车床。某些立车的立柱或工作台也可做成可移动的﹐以扩大加工直径范围。
