塔格架间歇泉世界海拔最高的间歇泉。位于西藏自治区昂仁县桑桑区,海拔5080米。多雄藏布从塔格架泉区穿过,将其分为两部分,共有4处间歇泉,均坐落在大型泉华台地上。最大的一处位于河床南岸,泉口直径30厘米,水温85℃,活动十分频繁,活动方式也别具特色。每次喷发高度1~2米、最高达10米,延续时间长时约10分钟,短时一瞬间。每次大的喷发前泉口及旁边的热水塘水位缓慢上升,继而泉口起喷,水柱由低而高,有时经过几次反复而到激喷阶段。特大的喷发伴随巨大的吼声,高温水汽突然冲出泉口,扩展成直径达2米的水汽柱,高达20米。在4处间歇泉附近还分布有大大小小的沸泉、热泉、热水塘、喷气孔等。塔格架间歇泉的喷发高度虽不及美国的格兰喷泉,但其海拔高度却超过格兰喷泉3000米,为地球上奇观之一。
