Delcam软件在模具设计制造中的应用笔者所在的公司是一家专业制造各类汽车塑料件模具的公司，经过几十年的发展，在注塑模具的制造上有自己独特技术和经验。随着计算机技术的飞速发展和应用，模具的制造技术也日新月异，我公司在20世纪90年代初开始应用CAD/CAM技术于模具制造。2000年，我们在原有软件的基础上购买了英国Delcam公司的PowerSHAPE和PowerMILL软件，经过这几年在模具中的应用，取得了非常好的效果，提高了工作效率，缩短了模具制造时间，提高了加工质量。 当然，任何软件都有它的不足，而我们就应该合理选择，充分发挥软件的最佳功能。笔者经过多年的应用和比较认为，PowerSHAPE和PowerMILL是很适合模具制造行业的，尤其是PowerSHAPE简捷的曲面造型技术和电极拆分，对加快分模和电极设计有较大的帮助。至于PowerMILL的安全、方便、快速的特点更是独树一帜，特别是PowerMILL的高速铣和五轴功能优势更为明显。下面以近期某套模具为例，介绍PowerSHAPE和PowerMILL软件的一些应用。一、PowerSHAPE的应用 Delcam提供了Windows环境下全中文用于复杂形体零件及模具设计、制造与测量的CAD/CAM集成系统解决方案。示例产品的三维数据，如图1所示。该产品是某新车型仪表台上的控制器部面板，装配关系复杂，表面有纹理要求。产品外形尺寸为475mm×310 mm×400mm，属于典型的超深腔(模具型腔深达410mm)加工，在加工工艺上要有特殊的要求才能完成模具的制造。图1 产品的三维数据 本产品要求从接到数据到做出首件合格样件只给100天时间，为了节省产品缝实体时间和大量电极的拆分与管理，我选择PowerSHAPE分模，PowerMILL进行加工。分模情况如图2所示。图2 分模情况 在进行分模时就要综合考虑后续的加工工艺，电极的拆分。这种复杂模具的制造是不允许犯错误的，特别是在设计阶段，否则将造成不可挽回的损失。PowerSHAPE具有方便、强大的曲面编辑功能，能够快速地制作和修改分型面，检查拔模角，分析模型的精度和正确性，如图3所示。图3 曲面编辑 由于产品的原始数据是IGES格式的，虽然曲面复杂且数量很多，但为了节省时间笔者没有逐一检查分析曲面质量，因为经过多年的应用深知，PowerMILL具有良好的容错能力，即使输入模型中存在间隙，也可产生出无过切的加工路径。如果模型中的间隙大于公差，PowerMILL将提刀到安全Z高度；如果模型间隙小于公差，刀具则将沿工件表面加工，跨过间隙，因此它的安全性很高。但是如果采用高速铣的加工方式，就必须考虑模型质量。在高速加工中不影响刀具的模型缺陷将不会影响刀具路径，但是影响刀具的模型缺陷将严重影响加工路径。
