产品寿命周期成本（productlifecyclecost）某种产品在其整个寿命周期内发生的全部成本。寿命周期是指产品从研究开发、设计、制造、销售、使用和直到用户停止使用为止的产品自然寿命周期。产品寿命周期成本是一种决策分析成本，常用于耐用产品和复杂的公用事业或军用系统工程项目的投资决策分析之中。其目的在于把该产品或项目中整个寿命周期的预计总成本和预计总收入（或总效益）相比较，以衡量其经济效益的高低，从而作出最优决策。在价值工程决策和企业成本--效益分析决策中常常使用产品寿命周期成本概念。运用时必须充分考虑两个问题：其一是不能只站在企业的立场或者用户的立场上，而应站在社会的立场，兼顾企业和用户的利益，使社会叫效益最高。其二，由于产品在整个经济寿命周期中的成本支出，是在不同阶段发生的，其具体金额和内容是不同的，所以在测算时，应充分考虑资金的时间价值因素。在现代市场经济社会中，产品寿命周期概念已被广泛运用，它不但为企业投资决策提供依据，也是企业不断开发新产品，保证企业生存发展的客观要求。
