单桥

献县单桥石桥●单桥,位于献县城南 6 公里滹沱河旧道上,西距106国道 1 公里,沧石高速公路北侧。1982年被河北省定为省级保护文物。此桥为五孔四券石拱桥,始建于明崇祯二年(1629年)。全长 77.5 米,桥面宽 9.5 米,呈马鞍型。最高处距地面 15 米,中孔高大开阔,矢高 12 米,跨径 10.5 米,自中孔向两侧各孔径依次减小,因河弯处流水湍急,为便于宣泄,故将桥南面两孔相对加大。桥面青石铺砌,两侧桥栏由 64 根望柱和 68 块石栏组成,望柱上雕刻着狮、猴、神兽,形态各异,栏板上的浮雕十分精美,有火狮、云龙、飞凤、麒麟和神仙故事,其内容主要倾向于道教。桥两端各有一双骑狮的男女善人石像,像高 2 米,善人年龄五十左右,慈眉善目,为修桥捐资人的代表形象。9 个大小拱券上方雕刻着 18 个俯视河面的螭头,全桥上下有 270 处雕刻,为明代艺术风格,是研究佛道两家和明代艺术的宝贵资料。位于从前的京德古御路和滹沱河的交汇处。至今桥面仍留有20公分深的车辙,可见石桥当年的繁华。自明代以后,单桥历代都设有重兵把守。日本帝国主义侵占华北时,对京德古御路采取避村过野,裁弯取直的办法,向西移1公里修建新桥。兴盛了几百年的单桥冷落萧条下来,而石桥也得已完好地保存。●单桥地处京德古御道貌岸然和滹沱河的交汇点上,自古即为南北交通要道。明朝在北京建都以后,人来车往,更感到无桥之不便。明正统六年开始建木桥,因滹沱河水势汹涌,木桥屡经毁复耗费了大量人力财物。河间知府王逢元等提议修建石桥。献县知事李粹自捐资主修邑人刘沿用、石守志、张九叙等捐资募款,力成此举。为此捐资出力者不计其数,就连石料都是商船纤夫不矢劳苦从千里以外的太行山区义务代运。经过8年的努力,于崇祯十三年建成,成为京南的交通咽喉。至今桥面仍留有0.2米深的车辙,可见石桥当年的繁华。
