槽式列车用于隧道和矿山工程中的一种长槽形运碴列车(见图)。用矿山机车牵引在轨道上行驶。它既是转载机,又是运卸设备。槽式列车的前端配有接碴车,后端有卸碴车,中间为若干节相互连接的槽车。各节车厢均无前后挡板,贯穿整个列车的刮板链条安装在车厢底架中,用风或电驱动。接碴车还附有一套压实存碴的装置和控制设备。将装入接碴车的石碴转载装满整个列车后,由矿山机车牵引至卸碴场,驱动刮板链条,石碴即由列车尾部的卸碴车卸出。用槽式列车代替斗车,配合装碴机出碴,可减少甚至省去调车作业,有效地发挥装运设备的能力。槽式列车容积大,当中间槽车为16节时,每列车的装碴容量可达26米h;22节时可达35米h,且只需一名司机操纵。当一次掘进循环的碴量不大于槽式列车的装碴容量时,可实现不调车连续装碴,故在隧道导坑、矿山巷道中使用效率较高。槽式列车走行时对弯道半径的要求较高,且只能在直线上装碴和卸碴,加之本身结构较复杂、笨重、耗风量大,在梭式矿车出现后,即逐渐被其代替。
