中国世界现代史学会中国研究世界现代史的群众性学术团体。1979年成立,会址设在北京师范大学。下设东北区、华北区、西北区、华东区、中南区和西南区6个分会。会员419人(1987)。领导机构为全体会员选举产生的理事会。研究会聘请宦乡为名誉会长。现任第 3届理事会产生于1985年，会长为北京师范学院齐世荣教授。另设理事若干人、秘书长1人。研究会在马克思主义指导下研究世界现代史,贯彻百花齐放、百家争鸣方针，团结和组织全国世界现代史研究和教学工作者积极开展学术讨论、交流教学经验。具体任务是：提出和研究世界现代史的重要课题；组织会员撰写论著；编译资料；召开学术讨论会；举办讲习班；发现和培养人才等。研究会成立9年来,召开了4次全国性学术会议。就世界现代史的分期、社会主义道路的各种模式、民族解放运动的各种类型、国家垄断资本主义、战后资本主义国家经济发展等问题进行了讨论。1986年举办了一届世界现代史中青年教师培训班。各分会共举行了20次专题讨论会。研究会编辑了《世界现代史论文集》（三联书店1982年出版），并办有期刊《世界现代史教学与研究》和会刊《中国世界现代史研究会通讯》。
