钌钌ruthenium一种化学元素。化学符号Ru,原子序数44,原子量101.07,属周期系ⅤⅢ族,为铂系元素的成员。1827年俄国G.V.奥赞在乌拉尔山区产的铂矿中发现一种新元素,命名为ruthenium,该字来源于拉丁文Ruthenia,含义是“俄罗斯”。1844年俄国K.K.克劳斯从亮锇铱矿的矿渣中制取了海绵状的金属钌。钌在地壳中的含量为1×10-7%,钌和其他铂系元素分散在冲积矿床和砂积矿床的各种矿物(如原铂矿、镍黄铁矿、硫化镍铜矿、磁铁矿、铬铁矿)中,独立矿物有硫钌矿、硫铱锇钌矿、硫砷钌铑矿,还存在着游离状态的锇铱自然合金。钌是银白色金属,熔点2310℃,沸点3900℃,相对密度12.30,质硬而脆,不易加工,耐磨性强。钌的化学性质不活泼,在空气和潮湿环境中稳定,在空气中加热到900℃,才在表面形成RuO2薄膜,1000℃时生成RuO3和RuO4。加热时钌与氟、氯、溴发生反应。钌不溶于酸和王水,溶于熔融的强碱。钌的氧化态为+1、+2、+3、+4、+5、+6、+7、+8,钌有形成配位化合物的强烈倾向,如K4[Ru(CN)6]·3H2O、K3[RuCl6]、K2[RuCl6]、Na2[RuCl4O2]。RuO4是剧毒的挥发性化合物,对人的眼结膜和呼吸道有强刺激作用。钌是提取铂过程中的副产品,将得到的(NH4)3RuCl6灼烧后,在氢气流中加热,便被还原为金属钌。钌是铂和钯的有效硬化剂,铂钌合金用作汽油油量计和航空仪表的触头,钯钌合金用作振动电压调压器的触头,锇钌合金可制自来水笔笔尖。钌还用于生产石油炼制用的催化剂。
