区域地壳稳定性工程建设区域内现今地壳在内动力作用下的相对稳定程度。地壳自形成以来,总是处于运动发展之中,稳定则是处于某一相对短暂的地质历史时期,或是处于某些局部地区。研究区域地壳稳定性的目的,是使工程建筑场地选在相对稳定地区,避开现今活动构造带;在活动地区选择相对稳定地带(或地段)──"安全岛"。区域地壳稳定性的调查研究,不仅在工程规划、选址阶段具有战略意义,而且可以为保护地质环境和防治地质灾害提供科学依据。影响区域地壳稳定的因素主要是构造运动,如地壳大面积升降、隆起,特别是差异性的断裂活动,火山活动,地震活动,诱发地震等。区域地壳稳定性调查研究的主要内容包括:①区域构造体系的归属、形成发育及其复合关系。特别注意研究活动断裂及能动断裂的展布、发育深度、活动时期、活动方式及活动速率。②根据野外新构造调查,结合室内模拟实验,分析区域内现今构造应力场;并在调查地区内进行原地地应力测定等,获得不同部位的最大主应力方向和应力值,确定相对应力集中部位,验证现今构造应力场。③研究区域内发震、孕震断裂构造的展布及其与历史上地震震中的关系;研究历史地震的频率、强度及其迁移规律。进行微震探测,研究微震活动规律;预测调查区域内可能发震部位,可能最大地震强度及发震周期;研究外来地震的烈度衰减规律和不同强度地震的地震效应。④研究区域内地震地质背景与场地的具体地质条件,对人类工程、经济活动诱发地震的可能性作出评价,并对诱发地震的地点和强度作出预测。在上述工作及已有资料的基础上,编制区域地壳稳定性分区图,划分出极不稳定的、不稳定的、基本稳定的和稳定的等不同程度的地区、地带和地段。并据此作出各区、带、段的稳定性评价,提出工程选线、选址意见。
